Sylvia Kirby ~ My Story
Long before I became a certified Life & Career Coach, I was living life in the spotlight as a recording artist for RCA Records. In the 1980s, my single “Nobody” became a multi-million-selling crossover hit, and in 1982, I was honored to be named 'Top Female Vocalist' by the Academy of Country Music. I’ve since sold over 4 million records and released 12 original albums, including ongoing work with my own independent label, Red Pony Records.
But between the tours, award shows, and recording sessions, I began to feel the weight of navigating a fast-paced, high-pressure world largely on my own. Like so many, I often made big, career-shaping decisions without a sounding board—because most of the people around me were financially or emotionally tied to my success. I longed for a safe, neutral space to think out loud, explore options, and reconnect with my core self.
It was during the quieter period of transition—from RCA artist to independent musician—that I discovered the emerging field of Life and Career Coaching. I immediately knew: this was what I needed back then. And more importantly, this is what I want to offer others now.
I trained at the Hudson Institute of Coaching in Santa Barbara, one of the most respected coaching programs in the country, and became certified in 2002. Since then, I’ve worked with professionals from all walks of life—artists, executives, creatives, and anyone standing at a crossroads—helping them navigate change, deepen their self-awareness, and move forward with confidence.
Coaching is not about fixing what’s broken. It’s about uncovering what’s already inside you—your wisdom, your gifts, your truth. My role is to hold a safe, curious, and compassionate space where you can pause, reflect, and reconnect to what matters most. Whether you’re seeking clarity, making a career transition, or longing to bring more of yourself to your work, I’m here for you.
And yes—music is still a big part of my life. I continue to write, record, and release music with Red Pony Records. And today, one of my deepest passions is helping others tune into their own voice—the one that speaks not only through a microphone, but through clarity, purpose, and authentic choice.
